Historic Thames

The History of the Thames visualisation utilised the WordCram Library which is a open source Processing Library released at WordCram.org (Daniel Bernier, 2010). This library was inspired by Wordle but was built for a Processing application. This library does all of the “heavy lifting- text analysis, collision detection, bin-packing- for you” (Daniel Bernier, 2010) which made it far easier to utilise for the History of the Thames vizualisation.

The History of the Thames vizualisation is a method to display the history of the Thames River and its significances within the Great Britain is a really easy to understand method. The data is sourced from http://www.riverthames.co.uk/cms/shared/display.php?path=3274#18th which is a comprehensive history fo the Thames (Briggs, 2014).
